Thames Valley Science & Engineering Fair

The Thames Valley Science & Engineering Fair allows students in Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford Counties to explore science. Grades 4 - 5 participate in the non- competitive Elementary Exhibition.  Grades 6 - 8 (Junior), Grades 9 - 10 (Intermediate) and Grades 11 - 12 (Senior) each compete in one of three Divisions: Engineering, Life Science and Physical Science.  Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals are awarded.  About 40% of the students receive recognition.  Students also compete for one of the fifteen or so Special Awards, which include trips to summer camps, and cash prizes.  The Grand Awards are the ten places at the Canada Wide Science Fair to be held in Montreal in May.  For some, this is a life-changing experience. Students who do well in science fairs learn several of the soft skills vital for success in post-secondary education.  Some win major scholarships that cover most of the cost of their university education. We help students find their passion. We open doors they never knew existed.
