Position Description

The London Children's Museum is a special place for children and their grown-ups to play and learn together. It is filled with hands-on, interactive exhibits that encourage children from infancy to twelve years old to explore and discover science, arts, heritage and more. Our volunteers keep our organization running.  There is always a way to get involved and put your skills to work.

 Time Commitment: Minimum 3 hour shift in the spring, summer and fall gardening season

Reports to: Facility Manager

Position Description: 

We are seeking volunteers to help with the upkeep of our gardens and grounds.  Small odd jobs include weeding, planting, trimming etc.  Flexible scheduling for each volunteer to come as often or as little as you wish or only work on nice sunny days outside.  All skill levels are welcome and experience isn’t mandatory.  Our team is willing to show you how to complete any task if you are willing to learn.  Perfect opportunity to stay busy, get involved or get out of the house and make a difference for a local not-for-profit organization.

 Activities:

  • Weeding and general garden maintenance
  • Application of mulch or ground cover
  • Planting or transplanting
  • Trimming bushes or small trees

 Position Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently with minor supervision
  • Ability to handle minor physical work
  • Ability to work in a safe and effective manner
  • Gardening skills helpful but not required
  • Training will be provided by the Children’s Museum
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check required
