Event Description

This workshop is part of a 4 part series called All About Boards. For more information and to register for the entire series please click here.

The nonprofit landscape is changing.  We are now faced with changing political environments, more scrutiny of the sector leading to calls for greater accountability, an increasingly unpredictable economic climate and the list goes on. As a board member, how will you continue to evolve?

Whether your organization is small or large, this half-day interactive session will explore local strategic initiatives and your responsibility to respond as a board. Discussion will allow you to critically evaluate the effectiveness of your own governance processes and spark questions to ensure strategic thinking.

Why you should attend:

  • Hear from local nonprofit organizations whose visionary boards took risks
  • Look ahead to the future
  • Explore innovative approaches to respond to community needs

Community Case Studies:

  • Mergers and Partnerships
  • Social Enterprise and Social Finance
  • New Community Initiatives

Level: Beginner-Intermediate

Target Audience: Board Members, Executive Directors, board support staff  and those interested in learning about becoming a volunteer board member
