National Tree Day Tree Depot

Various TBD times throughout the day.  Please check our website for more information.

Tree Depots are pop-up stations that offer free trees to those in the surrounding neighbourhood. These Tree Depots will occur once in every ward each year for the next two years, so be sure to keep your eyes out for a Tree Depot near you!

It is surprising to learn that 40% of the land in London is controlled by individual residential land owners. Over the next two years ReForest London will be working to get more trees onto private residential property and you can help by taking a tree and planting it!

We will have a variety of species available for selection, and staff or volunteer on hand to assist with your selection. Some of the species include; sugar maple, red maple, sycamore, tulip tree, fruit trees, shagbark hickory etc.

Tree Depots will focus on neighbourhoods that could use a few more trees, and our goal is to offer 5,600 trees over two years through these depots. Long term, we hope that residential trees will create green infrastructure in the urban areas of London.

Residents can take 1-2 trees per household, and must provide their address and email at the Tree Depot. Trees are by donation. Trees are between 4-7 feet tall and you can find the species list here. Tree selection will vary from depot to depot, on average between 15-20 species will be at each depot

All trees planted from the Tree Depots will count towards London's Million Tree Challenge. If you have planted any trees since 2011, please take the time to register them at milliontrees.ca and be counted!

Whether you're looking for volunteer opportunities,
networking events or a job in the nonprofit sector, we can help.
