Tree Specialist Training: Session 1 (In-Class)

Training includes an overview of Tree Specialist duties, common planting mistakes, and tree identification skills.

This in-class training is being offered on two different dates: Tuesday April 18, 2017 from 6pm-8pm or Thursday May 11 from 6pm-8pm. Only sign up for one date please.

Purpose:

Tree Specialists (formerly Tree Guru) are knowledgeable about planting and caring for trees and help out at planting and aftercare events, tree depots and tree blitzes. Training includes an overview of Tree Specialist duties, common planting mistakes, choosing the right tree, and tree identification skills.

We want you to become a go-to person Tree Specialist for our events, and this training will prepare you for that role.

Training Location: ReForest London Offices, 944 Western Counties Road, London Ontario, N6C 6A9

Prerequisite: You must take the ReForest London Orientation offered on Saturday April 1, Tuesday April 11 or Tuesday May 9 (only sign up for one of these dates) before attending Tree Specialist training.

Time Commitment:

· Training Session 1: In-Class is a 2 hour classroom training session

· Training Session 2: Tree ID Hike is a 2 hour Tree Identification Hike at Westminster Ponds (dress for the weather)

· Online Quiz – to be completed after training sessions

· Must attend four shifts a year (or more).

Tree Specialist Training Session 2 (Tree ID Hike) will be taking place on Thursday May 11 from 6-8pm. Registration is required.
