Part-Time Cook’s Helper

The Men’s Mission kitchen has an opening for a Part-time Cook’s Helper position. This position will work under the supervision of the Food Services Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Food preparation which may involve desserts, snacks, and salad
  • Washing and storage of kitchen dishes, utensils, and cookware using both automated and hand-operated dish washing systems
  • Cleaning kitchen surfaces and floors
  • Collection and disposal of kitchen and dining area related waste/recyclables
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • 1 year kitchen experience preferred
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, First Aid, and CPI
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication skills

Position Details:

  • Full-time hours (40 hrs./week)
