The London Community Chaplaincy seeks to build community with families who face the challenges of living in poverty and to build community with faith communities across the city seeking to share their energy and resources. We are currently looking for a positive team player, skilled at community building to join our ministry team. The Program Coordinator role is an integral member of our core staff team.
To build healthy, professional and supportive relationships with the residents, connecting them to resources, providing pastoral care and assisting with accessing basic needs
To nurture and develop a sense of community and healthy relationships among families predominantly adult women living in in the Limberlost neighbourhood
To initiate, develop, and/or partner with other agencies in creating programs, groups and events which will be offered to support families in the community
With the Chaplaincy team, help with implementing special events and activities, such as seasonal celebrations and BBQ’s
With the Chaplaincy team, develop and support connections with faith communities, community organizations, service clubs, volunteers and student placements.
Maintain records, statistics, and other vital information according to policies and procedures
Coordinate onsite groups, program registrations, and volunteers
Facility Maintenance of Limberlost site, (technology, office supplies, household supplies, general cleanliness)
A positive, goal-oriented person who has a strong sense of personal initiative and can achieve outcomes
Must be able to multitask and achieve competing priorities
An outgoing person, who can initiate and develop new relationships
A creative person able to develop programming with limited financial resources
Must possess a depth of understanding regarding the realities and needs of families living in poverty, and have a passion to build justice with them
A positive individual able to demonstrate empathy and to treat everyone with dignity and respect at all times
Comfortable working with a faith-based organization with a pastoral care approach
Ability to be flexible and accept changing responsibilities as the ministry evolves and adapts to changing community needs
Education: Pursuing or attained college or university in a field of study related to pastoral care, chaplaincy, counselling or social work from a recognized university or college.
Employment and volunteer experience demonstrating ability to build healthy, supportive relationships with clientele, demonstrated leadership and program implementation

Current standard First Aid, Safe Food Handling and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention

Compensation: $18.00/Hour, approximately 25hours/week for 25 weeks, beginning September 8th, 2020. Various shifts required, including possible evening and or weekend work. Possibility of Job extension as funding allows.
