Salary: Competitive salary range

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m., flexible to align work schedule with program requirements which will include some evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays

JOB SUMMARY:  

TheRecreation and Wellness Workeris responsible for overseeing, leading, and organizing programs and events for children and youth aged 0 to 17.

Key duties include engaging with participants to understand their needs and interests, providing guidance and direction, implementing behavior management strategies, and promoting active participation in all activities. This role ensures that programs and events foster social, physical, cognitive, and emotional development while adhering to relevant policies and procedures.

Additionally, this position is accountable for the safety, security, and well-being of all program participants.

EDUCATION:

  1. Post-secondary diploma in Child and Youth Care, Recreation and Leisure Services, Social Service Work, or a related field of study.

 

EXPERINECE:

  1. Previous employment experience in a similar capacity is considered an asset.
  2. Experience monitoring and reviewing program budgets is considered an asset.
  3. Workshop and/or facilitation experience, experience working with children and youth in leadership capacity, community development experience is considered an asset.
