If you are an energetic, well-organized self-starter with a passion for early literacy, this opportunity could be for you. Strong Start to reading is a registered charity that provides volunteer-delivered, community–based reading assistance programs to children in the early grades of elementary school. In this role, you will coordinate the delivery and lead the expansion of our well-established Letters, Sounds and WordsTM program within the communities and schools of London, Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford.

You will thrive with multiple priorities and enjoy public speaking. Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail are required. A background in primary education, early literacy and language, marketing or public relations would be an asset. Responsibilities include program coordination, fund development, budget management and publicity.

Preference will be given to former leaders from within the education community who bring an established professional network and profile and are local to this region. You will report to the Director of Program and training will be provided. You must have a reliable car and be able to work 15-20 hours per week.
