VERGE Capital, a program of Pillar Nonprofit Network, has catalyzed over $3.5 million in impact investing, shifting capital towards our community's most pressing social and environmental challenges.
Social Finance Funds
Leading social finance innovations for southwestern Ontario, VERGE Capital is helping to create an impact investing ecosystem in our region by operating two social finance funds:
1. The VERGE Capital Startup Fund provides loans of $5k to $50k to early-stage enterprises across Southwestern Ontario.
2. The VERGE Breakthrough Fund provides loans of $50k to $500k to growing social enterprises and affordable housing projects.
VERGE Capital has invested in over 20 social enterprises and affordable housing initiatives. The impact of these investments includes providing access to training and employment for persons with disabilities, poverty alleviation, global access to educational materials and the only space in London designed to facilitate collaboration between social innovators.
VERGE is a program of Pillar Nonprofit Network in collaboration with Libro Credit Union, London Community Foundation, Sisters of St. Joseph and SVX.
VERGE also partners with the local entrepreneurship ecosystem as well as national and provincial experts to leverage existing infrastructure and best-practice approaches.
