Hutton House is seeking volunteers with an interest in adults with disabilities to serve on the agency's Board of Directors.
Hutton House Association for Adults with Disabilities is a registered charity with over 65 years of experience facilitating the goals and aspirations of adults with disabilities. Within each program offered, individuals may customize their involvement to maximize their own capacity to learn, work, live and participate in the community. In turn, our vision will be realized by building community partnerships and opportunities that strengthen the inclusion of all citizens in society.
Hutton House is looking for committed community members to serve on an inclusive and supportive policy-governance board, providing assistance and direction to the Executive Director. The Board is currently seeking applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Arts and/or social enterprise
Business Connections/Community Relations
Prior experience as a Board member is not required, but is considered a strong asset.
Mentorship and orientation is provided for new Board members. Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings, committee meetings, events and fundraising activities.
Monthly Board meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm except December, July and August.
Hutton House is committed to providing volunteer orientation and training which complies with all government regulations and organizational policies and procedures. This requires that each volunteer complete a comprehensive orientation in person and through on-line training.
All volunteers must also complete reference checks, a Police Records Check and sign a statement of confidentiality.
