Position Description

LUSO Community Services is a non-­profit multicultural organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, which has provided services to marginalized children, youth and families in the London community since 1980. We are searching for strategic thinkers to join our active, committed and dynamic Board of Directors.

Are you interested in offering your time, talent and expertise to support a wide range of social services? LUSO offers multicultural programs, newcomer settlement services, after school youth programs, children’s literacy programs, and other community development initiatives in northeast London. LUSO is striving to build its volunteer Board to be reflective of our inclusive and multicultural
organization, including diverse ethnicity, race, culture, gender, age, and areas of expertise and
experience. All applications are welcome. Skills/experience in the following areas are an asset:
• Human resources
• Resource development and/or connections to giving
• Marketing and public relations
• Legal
• Finance and investments
• Strategic planning

Board positions are available immediately. New board members must commit to a minimum of six hours a month, including attendance at the monthly board meetings (third Thursday evening of each month from 6-­8 PM) and participation on one subcommittee.
