Oxford Community Child Care is a not for profit, charitable organization serving Oxford County and surrounding area since 1987. We are a multi-service organization offering early learning, child care and family programs for children and families from birth to age 12.
At Oxford Community Child Care, we believe that children are competent, capable, curious and rich in potential. We are committed to high quality early learning and child care where children learn and grow to become confident, independent and contributing members of our community. Our vision is to provide the leadership necessary to offer services that promote healthy growth, development and learning for children and their families.
As a member of the Board, you provide professional expertise and guidance to the Executive Director within a governance model. The Board is responsible for the oversight accountability of the organization’s mission, direction and outcomes. Previous experience with not-for-profit governance and leadership is an asset but not required.
Understanding the complexities of child care and family support programs
Approving and reviewing Human Resources policies and procedures
Organizing and implementing fundraising activities
Supporting advocacy efforts for child care
Ensuring the organization is financially stable and sustainable
Attend and actively participate in monthly meetings, 2-4 hours
Read and respond promptly to email communications
Participate on Sub-committees, as needed
Attend and participate in the Annual General Meeting
