Position Description

Geranium Heritage House Tour Committee - Volunteers Needed

Our perennially popular signature fundraiser, the Geranium Heritage House Tour, would be impossible to carry out without dedicated volunteers who generously donate their time to making it the resounding success it has been for the past 45 years!

Our Committee works with home-owners in a different historical neighbourhoods each year culminating in ticketed, guided tours of their private homes, landmark buildings, and surrounding streetscapes on the first Sunday every June.

Do you love learning about older homes in our city’s many historical neighbourhoods? Do you like talking with people who lovingly maintain and renovate older homes to enjoy their traditional craftsmanship and today’s modern conveniences? Do you delve into event planning, thinking of creative new ways to refresh traditions? Sounds like you’ll love being part of our Tour Committee!

The Geranium Heritage House Tour is ACO London's only fundraising event and allows us to fund scholarship and grant programs as well as heritage advocacy initiatives throughout the year. We typically sell out with over 500 attendees each year!

Architectural Conservancy Ontario - London Region (ACO London) is committed to conserving London area’s heritage architecture through public awareness and advocacy. We support and encourage architectural conservation through the creative reuse and repurposing of older buildings, the creation of Heritage Conservation Districts to protect our historic neighbourhoods, and the active retention and maintenance of London area’s unique history as embodied by its built heritage.

ACO London is a volunteer-run community organization founded over 50 years ago with the threatened destruction of London’s original financial buildings, the Ridout Street Complex, now a National Historic Site.
