Are you into classic, vintage and muscle cars?  Do you enjoy fixing up old cars to make them new again? Would you like to share your expertise with a student who would love to explore fixing up older cars.

We currently have a young man who is passionate about vintage and muscle cars. He is very capable, pleasant to be with and wants to learn more about fixing up old cars.  He is hoping to connect with someone who could provide him with some opportunities to explore this passion.

Student Links is an initiative by Community Living Ontario. Our goal is to promote inclusiveness for those living with a disability. Student Links is a program specifically for students between the ages of 14-21. We match these students with a mentor in their community with whom they share common interests. Students are provided with an opportunity to explore different roles based on their interests, practice hard and soft skills and network.  This helps them form decisions about the choices available to them upon graduation.

The role of a mentor is a highly rewarding one, and can take many forms. I seek people who are passionate about their work, and those who want to share their expertise with someone who might not otherwise be exposed to such experiences.  There is no requirement in terms of time commitments.  A mentorship is formed with the help of the program coordinator and can take many forms depending on the availability of the mentor and student.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy contact Sarah Ellis-Pierron at sellispierron@communitylivingontario.ca or 519-520-8268 for more information on this or any other mentorship opportunities. Check out our website at: https://communitylivingontario.ca/en/francais-student-links/
