Introducing the 11 new social enterprises joining the Pillar Social Enterprise Incubator

Twice a year we invite startup social enterprises to join us for 12 months of integrated, supported learning at Innovation Works. Sponsored by Libro Credit Union, we provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, learning opportunities and resources to boost the impact of these social enterprises.

Social Enterprise Incubator participants receive:
- 3 months of bi-weekly workshops; including business development, strategic planning and impact measurement
- 6 months of 1-1 Coaching with Pillar's Social Enterprise Coach
- 12 months access to Innovation Works
- 12 months Pillar Nonprofit Network membership
- Access to online databases of legal documents, business plan templates & other social enterprise resources
- A network of social enterprises at all stages of development

Cobomax Academy

Cobomax Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education for young students in Ontario. A strong STEM education has been recognized as a key driver of lifetime opportunity. The vision of Cobomax Academy is to provide every student feasible opportunity to excellent STEM education.


CollectiveTech

CollectiveTECH is a business-services outsourcing and employment centre that connects local businesses to newcomer talent and recent (post-secondary) graduates. We are creating mutually advantageous opportunities that help businesses to grow, while supporting individuals who could benefit from meaningful, paid, Canadian work experience. This is done in a project-based, collaborative working environment that supports growth and innovation for the employer, but also experiential learning and skills development for the employees.


Plant a Home Co-operative

Plant a Home Co-operative is a housing co-op providing adults with developmental disabilities long-term housing in a community with people of all abilities. It was created in response to the housing crisis and long wait lists facing adults with developmental disabilities in Ontario. Our goal is to build a financially sustainable business model to provide housing for adults with developmental disabilities, who are seeking independence from aging caregivers.


SheLeads

SheLeads is a software for programs that serve women and girls to measure impact, without manual analysis. We serve nonprofits, charities and corporate diversity programs. Data from our evaluations is used to apply for funding, improve initiatives and advocate for change to benefit women and girls.


Slovo Solutions

Slovo Solutions is a social enterprise which builds a mutual help community for newcomers from Russian speaking countries. We are helping to save post-Soviet Union cultures by providing different events, activities and helping people to have a better life in London, Ontario. We are connecting people, businesses and services to find solutions for existing immigration problems. We are also helping people in need through charities organized in cooperation with local businesses and through UN World Food Programm.


Stem2Stern

Stem2Stern is a not-for-profit social enterprise which has developed a program of youth development through the building and launching of wooden boats. We engage our participants through the hands-on building of these boats, to empower our youth with life skills for the 21st century. We build, row and sail small water craft, while developing in our youth an awareness of nature and the environmental impact of life on the water.


London Community Food Hub (Thames Region Ecological Association)

London Community Food Hub (a collective of community groups) will serve as a place to grow and process food as well as become a meeting space and incubator for community innovation in urban agriculture, reskilling opportunities  and social enterprise. Our goal is to see neighbourhoods have access to locally grown food with citizens leading sustainable lives as a result of dynamic spaces that include education and resource sharing.


The Global Minds Collective

The Global MINDS Collective is a mindful social innovation platform that incubates, accelerates and orchestrates systems transformation for global mental health. As the world’s first, the Global MINDS Collective trains, mobilizes and inspires students, faculty and community partners to collectively address the most complex mental health system challenges in local, international and indigenous contexts. The Global MINDS Collective innovates with and for communities in low-/middle-income countries and with and for communities facing marginalization, including mental health inequities.


Thicket Studios

Thicket Studios is a digital media company that creates content for nonprofit organisations and social enterprises, especially, but not limited to, environmental protection and conservation organizations. Thicket studios specializes in animation, illustration, and motion graphics.  Past projects include work for Museum London, the Cascade Forest Conservancy, Remembrance Day for Lost Species, and Motiv8 Studios.


Yutl^notha Enterprise

Yutl^notha Enterprise is a healing centre for the recovery of Indigenous families values and structures through the provision of culturally based human development programs.  These programs concentrate on rebuilding and empowering individuals and families active on the Red road - healing path- with a balanced healthy lifestyle and a foundation of knowledge of the original teachings.  Yutl^notha Enterprise incorporates traditional beliefs, values and culture based practices to provided wellness and healing.


20 Questions

20 Questions Pub Trivia is a live-host trivia event company offering services for FUNdraising, corporate outings/events, and private functions. We support opportunities that help others obtain their educational dreams. Our second initiative, 2-4 Corps will be a craft beer club, where members receive craft brewery products delivered to their door, while engaging in beer-related functions organized by us.  This project will support organizations such as MADD and AA where alcohol has had a detrimental effect on others lives.
