Impact Chat: A Community Conversation on Youth Mental Health

Youth mental health is one of the most urgent and complex challenges facing our communities today.

Join Pillar Nonprofit Network, in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services and sponsored by CIBC Commercial Banking, for a meaningful conversation grounded in lived experience, community insight, and shared responsibility.

This Impact Chat will feature Carol Todd—an educator, advocate, and the mother of Amanda Todd. Following Amanda’s death, Carol founded the Amanda Todd Legacy Society and has become a leading voice across Canada on youth mental health, online safety, and the realities young people face today. Through her work, she has supported countless families, informed public policy, and helped communities better understand how to respond with care and compassion.

Carol will open the session with a powerful reflection on the realities facing young people today, the services available, and what we need to be paying attention to—as parents, educators, employers, and community members.

The conversation will continue in a fireside chat moderated by the Canadian Mental Health Association Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services, creating space for deeper dialogue and audience questions.

Together, we will explore:

  • Where we are right now with youth mental health
  • What supports exist—and where we can do better
  • What role each of us can play in supporting young people

This is not a lecture. It’s a conversation.
