Community of Guardians
We are a Social Learning Platform whereby the voice of Science can be shared with an army of members from around the world interested in learning and taking action toward the 2030SDGs.
All challenges on our platform are posted in a social media type environment where members act as a community in each of their respective SDG groups completing challenges, posting successes, as well as failures as they perform citizen science under the lessons posted by verified Knowledge Experts. Members can also earn CoGs points and SDG indicator data can be shared with organizations interested in sponsoring action to support their mandates to champion an SDG number.
It is grass roots on a massive scale across the world people taking action to fix and better support our world! We have used a superhero theme in our marketing as I would hope every member and knowledge experts who join us would see themselves as real life superheroes! We are also hoping to use these images for a marketing campaign we have upcoming called "What's my Number" where we have created an SDG personality quiz so that we can attract new members and educate them on the power of SDGs to solve a wide array of problems facing our planet. We want to make SDGs personal by giving people their own number!
We have a related marketing campaign planned to reach out to post-secondary students. We aim to provide a place to inventory and showcase student research. This is our strategy for funding our platform sustainably we have researched and collected data from students on their receptivity to paying a fee to upload research as well as their agreement to charging a fee for full access to research within the repository. Currently there is no centralized place to share the innovation and knowledge that is being generated at the post-secondary level. All around the world students are required to complete research projects in order to graduate at various levels (Masters, PhD. ) We aim to provide a place to showcase and share this innovative knowledge and encourage more of it by sharing it with interested parties. Also, by sharing this research on the CoGs we also request students to give us a plain language lesson and challenge pulled from their research that members of the CoGs can accept that moves action forward in that SDG.
