History + Family: Discover the Trades

Leather Stamping & Tinsmithing

Becoming a tradesperson, both in the past and today, takes a lot of training and practice. In the 19th century children would often help with the family business and then once they were old enough could become an apprentice. During this workshop, you and your children will create your own keepsake as you become apprentices together to discover the skills needed to work in both the Harness and Tinsmith Shops.

BRING YOUR CHILDREN, YOUNG FAMILY MEMBERS OR FAMILY FRIENDS AND DISCOVER HOW THINGS WERE MADE IN THE PAST TOGETHER!

Please note these are family workshops designed for children ages 7-14. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

For more information on these workshops please contact education@fanshawepioneervillage.ca or call 519-457-1296 ext. 827.
