Pillar Members Call on Government to Refund & Reform Canada Summer Jobs

LONDON, Ontario, October 18, 2023 -- Pillar and 28 of its member organizations have made a submission to a government committee calling for the reversal of planned cuts to Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) and a number of other improvements to the wage subsidy program that helps nonprofits deliver community benefits while supporting youth employment.

Empowering Community Engagement: A Joint Update from Board Chair and Interim CEO of Pillar Nonprofit Network

Pillar's Community Advisory Panel conducted a community conversation and online survey, leading to several shared outcomes. One of the key desires expressed by the membership was to receive updates from Pillar's Interim CEO and Board regarding the organization's operations. To address this, an email was sent to members and Pillar newsletter subscribers on Thursday, August 3.

New Partnership Aims to Bring Better Compensation and HR data to Canada’s Nonprofits

Pillar Nonprofit Network is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations (CCVO) and Imagine Canada to work on the Boland Survey. The Boland Survey is the most comprehensive source of nonprofit sector compensation and HR data in Canada. It has helped Canadian nonprofits make data-based decisions on salary and human resource practices since 1997.

A Message and Invitation from the Pillar Community Advisory Panel

The first meeting of the Community Advisory Panel (the Panel) was held on January 11th, 2023. Panel members include representatives from community, philanthropic and social impact sectors (listed below). Each of the panel members has expressed personal and professional investment in ensuring the stability of Pillar Nonprofit Network (Pillar) through a time of governance and staff transition.
