Last night, Dipesh Parmar was awarded the PricewaterhouseCoopers CEO Communities Award, a national award, for his community contributions including his volunteer work at Pillar Nonprofit Network.
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Dipesh's firm, holds an annual competition for this award across their entire firm. I understand that there were a record number of excellent nominees this year. As a finalist, Dipesh was invited to attend an awards ceremony in Toronto last night - and was surprised to learn that he won! The announcement was made with a great video including beautiful comments from his wife and children, who miraculously were able to keep this a surprise! I had the privilege of being a part of this event, as PwC arranged for a 'surprise guest' to share a local perspective about Dipesh's contributions (best board chair perk ever!). It was a truly wonderful evening, and such a treat to see Dipesh receive much deserved recognition.
Dipesh, thank you for all that you have done - and continue to do - for Pillar and for London. Pillar has grown significantly during your time on the Board, and there have been many financial complexities associated with this evolution. I am certain that Pillar would not be where it is without the very capable, committed and innovative financial leadership you have provided as our Treasurer. Our organization and community are better for the work you have done. Congratulations Dipesh!
Dipesh's award also comes with a $10,000 donation to Pillar, so that's pretty amazing too. I think the reaction in the photo captures it!
Please join me in congratulating Dipesh!
