Kids Kicking Cancer Canada is recruiting four Directors to serve on its National Board of Directors for a three‑year term, renewable once. This voluntary governance role offers the opportunity to contribute to a bold, growing organization committed to ensuring that every child who experiences pain in Canada has access to the Heroes Circle program. 

Directors play a critical fiduciary role, ensuring KKCC fulfills its mission in a prudent, ethical, and cost‑effective manner. The Board’s contributions are unique to its public trustee role and essential to the proper governance and management of the organization. 

Key Governance Responsibilities 

Directors of KKCC are responsible for: 

  • Providing strategic leadership and contributing to long‑term organizational direction. 
  • Ensuring alignment with KKCC’s mission, vision, values, and culture. 
  • Setting annual goals and monitoring progress against the Strategic Plan. 
  • Ensuring legal, ethical, and prudent behaviour across staff, volunteers, and the Board. 
  • Participating in Board committees as required. 
  • Supporting effective governance practices, including oversight, accountability, and transparency. 
  • Acting as an ambassador for KKCC with donors, partners, and stakeholders. 
Required Qualifications/Training: 
Volunteer experience in the not‑for‑profit sector, either on a governance board or committee.
Donor and partner relations (Directors act as KKCC ambassadors)
Strong governance competency
Skills Preferred: 
Candidates may offer experience in one or more of the following areas:
Philanthropy and revenue generation
Pediatric medical sector involvement
Marketing and communications
Representation from broad geographic regions across Canada
