Board of Directors (Volunteer) - London Children’s Museum 

Time Commitment: Minimum 2 years

Position Description: The London Children’s Museum is seeking strategic thinkers and community-minded individuals to join the volunteer Board of Directors. The ideal candidate aligns with the mission and values and is eager to contribute to the overall sustainability and impact of the organization. The London Children’s Museum has a governance Board focused on strategic leadership, upholding the values of the organization, assessing risk, and providing financial oversight.

Qualifications: As a member of the Board, your experience and professional expertise will guide the organization as it executes the current Strategic Plan. While anyone who is interested is encouraged to apply, the following is being sought to complement the existing Directors:

  • Individuals with financial, legal, governance, and/or human resources experience
  • Individuals with non-profit accounting experience

A diverse leadership team is required to cultivate an inclusive and accessible space that serves all children and families. As such, priority will be given to expanding Board diversity in the areas of age, gender expression, ethnicity, race, lived experience, and under-represented perspectives.

Commitment: The required commitments for the Director position are as follows:

  • The ability to serve for a minimum 2-year term (up to a maximum of three terms)
  • Attend monthly board meetings in person
  • Serve on one or more sub-committees of the Board
  • Embrace the mission, vision, and values of the London Children’s Museum
  • Represent and advocate for the London Children’s Museum in the community
