Volunteer Position: Women’s Art Group Volunteer
Name of Program: Community Development
Duration: Flexible
Hours Required: 3 hours per week, Thursdays between 12:30pm-3:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- -To work with Crouch NRC and CMHATV staff to provide support and assistance to the Women’s Art Group.
- -Ensuring that the Women’s Art Group is a safe space for all participants.
- -Ensuring participants who experience crisis during a group session are treated with sensitivity and support.
Key Tasks:
- -Assist in supporting therapeutic art projects for once weekly Women’s Art Group.
- -Work with Crouch NRC staff to set up room and supplies.
- -Work with CMHATV staff to clean and help take down room and supplies.
- -Potential to help with program development.
Skills and Attributes Required:
- -Candidate must be female.
- -Friendly, compassionate, and enthusiastic.
- -Training in mental health first aid, trauma informed care and related courses considered an asset.
- -Flexibility in role and delivery of programming according to participant needs.
- -Being a current student or graduate of a fine arts or art therapy program, or holding a CATA/ACAT certification an asset.
