We are seeking two remote content writers to develop educational content that appeals to our donors and guides clients and readers toward better animal care practices. We have a strong readership of more than 7,000 website hits per month. Our goal is to attract more readers and donors to support our mission. The role falls within the Education Team at PAWS and collaborates in content development with the Fundraising and Marketing teams. More about PAWS

Responsibilities and Duties:

Collaborate to brainstorm ideas and topics that appeal to the public and resonate with our mission and values.

Write and publish chosen topics monthly that are relevant, timely and appealing to a broad audience.

Upload well-written content to the website using WordPress, making use of appropriate brand coherence, structure, and imagery to maximize appeal and impact.

Ensuring a strong SEO (search-engine-optimization) so our material ranks well and is referred to readers by search engines.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Has a passion for animal welfare

Strong written communication skills

Ideally some background in education
-
Some WordPress experience and a basic understanding of SEO

Organized and self-directed in planning work to meet deadlines
Commitment:

Can contribute a minimum of 1-2 hours per week

Fully expect to be able to contribute for minimum of 6 months

Location – Canada – this is a virtual role. Monthly meetings at 7:30pm EDT
