ReForest London is a non-profit organization dedicated to partnering with our community to enhance environmental and human health in the Forest City, through the benefits of trees. We are also leading the development of the Westminster Ponds Centre (WPC) for Environment & Sustainability, a hub promoting environmental excellence, sustainability, health and wellbeing through the co-creation of resources, services, and programs.
We are looking for a volunteer Board Member (Director) who is action-oriented and looking to make an environmental impact on our community. ReForest London’s community focus, direct action in tree planting and the creation of London’s first and only Environment and Sustainability Centre create a wide variety of interesting and engaging experiences for Directors.
Each Director of ReForest London also sits on one of the Board’s committees. ReForest London has five committees that Board Members may sit on.
- Governance Committee. The role of the governance committee is to ensure good governance and oversight of the operation of the Board of Directors. The Governance Committee meets the third Monday of every month (save for the month of August).
- Finance and Audit Committee. The role of the finance committee is to oversee the organization’s financial and control systems and assist in the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes. The finance committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month (save for the month of August).
- Marketing and Outreach Committee. The role of the marketing and outreach committee is to guide, secure and steward major donors and corporate gifts. The marketing and outreach committee meets on the third Wednesday of each month (save for the month of August).
- Westminster Ponds Centre (WPC) Committee. The role of the WPC committee is to provide oversight and assistance to the Westminster Ponds Centre project. The WPC committee meets on the second Thursday of each month (save for the month of August).
- Nominations Committee. The role of the nominations committee is to support the recruitment and retention of board and committee members. The finance committee meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month from January to July and every other month from September to December.
We strive to keep both board and committee meetings to 2 hours or less. We seek an initial 3 year commitment for incoming board members. Successful candidates’ terms will commence following the evaluation and choosing of the successful candidate, in June 2026.
We appreciate all applications. However, the Board has a limited number of roles available. Not all applicants will be selected to interview for the Board role. That said, ReForest London is always looking for volunteers that are interested in supporting the committees. All applicants will be considered for a committee position.
