Summer Camp – Head Lice Check Volunteer

· Greeting campers’ families as they arrive using professional and courteous manners.

· Providing a thorough 10-15 minute head lice check.

· Ensuring areas are kept tidy, clean, and proper personal protective materials are used (provided).

· Must be at least 18 years of age and willing to provide The Salvation Army with a current (less than 3 months) satisfactory Vulnerable Sector police record check.

· Experience with checking for head lice is an asset but not necessary.

· Excellent customer service skills are required.

· Must be willing and able to stand for extended periods of time.

· Must be patient and have an ability to express compassion and empathy.

· Must be sensitive to the unique needs of those living on a low income or experiencing struggles in mental health.

· Must be able to work in a team environment.

· Reliability, punctuality, cooperativeness and adherence to safety guidelines are imperative.

· Fluent in English; Proficiency in languages other than English is an asset.
