London Middlesex Mental Health and Addiction Strategic Direction Office

The Strategic Direction Council (SDC) was formed in 2019 to address the recommendations in the City of London’s 2017 Community Mental Health and Addiction Strategy. The council is made up of the leadership from 13 mental health and addictions (MH&A) System Planning Tables and Operational Groups in the London-Middlesex region, as well as six MH&A organizations. The SDC also seeks to actively engage underrepresented groups including, people with lived experience, families and caregivers, and Indigenous groups.

Working with the community and system partners, the SDC sets strategic priorities for the region's mental health and addictions system that are in line with Ontario's Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence. With the goal of leading system change, the Council seeks to select 1-2 strategic-level planning priorities a year for the region to work toward and spread across the system.

The Strategic Direction Office (SDO) is a team dedicated to supporting the work of the SDC. The SDO strives to support communication, partnerships, and participation of individuals and organizations across the MH&A system, help create a common voice for the London-Middlesex MH&A community regionally and provincially, and support lasting change across the system.
