Astoria Pictures
Founded in July of 2022, Astoria Pictures is a film production and distribution company owned and operated by internationally award-winning poet and filmmaker Kevin Andrew Heslop. Its primary aim is to produce excellent films; its secondary aim is to maximize the medium's accessibility; and its tertiary aim is to collaborate with, and eventually distribute profits to, non-profit organizations. Because, as the company's sole employee, this loan will be a bet on me personally.

A neurodivergent, polydisciplinary doofus of Scottish, English, and Danish descent, presently lapsing Buddhist, Kevin also works in film, theatre, and visual art, dividing his practice between London, Ontario and Montréal, Québec. His work in film, theatre, and visual art has respectively appeared or is forthcoming with the Toronto Short Film Festival (2022), the Los Angeles International Film Festival (2022), the Milan Gold Awards (2022), the Vancouver Independent Film Festival (2022), the Berlin Shorts Award (2022), the Paris Play International Film Festival (2022), the Montréal Independent Film Festival (2022), and Astoria Pictures (2022-), a film production company for which he also serves as CEO; TAP: Centre for Creativity (2022, 2020, 2019, 2017), Purple Shorts (2018), and the Grand Theatre (2017); and Westland Gallery (2023), the plumb (2022), Heaven Scent (2022), McIntosh Gallery (2022), Artlab Gallery (2021), and TAP Centre for Creativity (2018). Heslop also currently works as Extraliterary Liaison for Gordon Hill Press.
