The Meaning of Home writing contest
The Meaning of Home writing contest, which runs from January 3 to February 18, 2022, invites Grades 4, 5 and 6 students from across Canada to submit a written poem or essay (in English or French) explaining what home means to them for a chance to win a $30,000 grant for their local Habitat for Humanity. Since 2007, over 80,000 students have participated in the Meaning of Home contest, raising over $1.7 million to build homes across Canada for families in need of decent and affordable housing. For each submission, Habitat Heartland Ontario will receive a $10 donation to help provide local families with a safe, decent, and affordable place to live.

A Visit with St. Nicholas
Join St. Nicholas for pancakes and sausage, and take a beautiful winter horse-drawn wagon ride around the Village! Breakfast includes 3 pancakes and 2 sausage and visitors can help themselves to orange juice, coffee, and tea, with a gingerbread cookie for dessert.
A select number of buildings will be open and will have activities for visitors to participate in.
Sittings offered at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. each day.

Doors Open London at Fanshawe Pioneer Village
Fanshawe Pioneer Village is celebrating our 60th anniversary during 2019! Discover the history of the Village as you visit. Try to complete our Anniversary Challenge, and help us recreate photos from our past! Design your own pioneer village, recreate the village at different points in time using our mini-buildings, and work together to build a giant Lincoln Log House.
During Doors Open London Fanshawe Pioneer Village will be closing at 4:00 p.m. each day.
