Green in the City: London's Green Bin Program

A new way to handle waste is on its way - learn about London's NEW green bin program during this online session!
As per the Resource Recovery Stategy and 60% Waste Diversion Action Plan, a green bin program is set to arrive in London. Diverting organic waste from landfill is essential to reducing our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, slowing our rate of hitting landfill capacity, and meeting local climate action targets.
In this event, City staff will be presenting an overview on what a Green Bin program might look like in London as the City collects feedback this winter through getinvolved.london.ca/greenbin. The City wants to learn about how you would use a Green Bin, and hear your thoughts on what should go in the Green Bin and what container size you would use. You will also hear about Green Bin experiences from municipal staff in the Region of Waterloo and City of Hamilton.
We will be hosting all Green in the City sessions online via Zoom. These sessions aim to be interactive for all attendees and will include opportunities for you to ask questions, share feedback, and interact with others. Please register for this session through Eventbrite. The Zoom link will be sent to all attendees before the session with the email you use to register. This event will be recorded and available for public viewing afterwards.
