Client Support Worker

Our Infectious Disease team has an opening for a Client Support Worker to perform outreach and engagement in the community, at various events, and online through various social media platforms. The focus on the work is to educate priority populations on Infectious Disease, primarily HIV, AIDS, and HepC; to offer and conduct point-of-contact infectious disease testing; and to connect individuals to available care resources. The ideal candidate would have crisis support experience and must be willing to be trained (or is already trained) in phlebotomy, and sexual health education.

  • A starting salary range of $46,000 – 49,000 annually

  • Majority of outreach is performed Mon-Friday within 9-5 hours, occasional events require weekend hours

QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Lived Experience and/or Human Services education
  • Ability to manage engagement through multiple social media platforms
  • Superior supportive listening skills, crisis counselling experience
  • Awareness and understanding of the social determinants of health and health promotion
  • Ability to work with diverse communities with respect, sensitivity, creativity, innovation, cultural understanding, and non-judgement
  • Working knowledge of cultural, social, and demographic patterns relating to priority populations
  • Strong computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (Telus Practice Solutions Suite currently in use).
  • French and other language skills are considered an asset in supporting the communities we serve
