Coordinator, Volunteer Services

Since 1949, TVCC has been working with children and youth to help them reach their full potential. Today, a wide range of services and supports are provided for young people with physical disabilities, communication disorders, developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders to support them in attaining the best available quality of life and health. In partnership with local and regional agencies, TVCC annually serves more than 11,000 children, youth and their families from birth to age 19 across Southwestern Ontario in over 700 locations.

 

We are seeking a regular, full-time (30 hours per week), Coordinator of Volunteer Services to fill a vacancy. The designated office for this position is London. This position is expected to begin in August 2024. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities:

- Market the volunteer program internally to staff across the region served by TVCC and to the community

- Create recruitment plans and promotional material to attract volunteers to TVCC.

- Conduct, maintain and monitor the recruitment, interviewing, placement, orientation, training, evaluation and recognition for volunteers

- Partner with staff interested in using volunteer resources by initiating or following up on requests for volunteers

- Coordinate non-clinical student placements, including interviewing, orienting, placing and collating evaluations

- In collaboration with the Professional Pracice Leaders, coordinate administrative functions related to clinical student placements, including mandatory paperwork and general orientation to TVCC.

- Complete all references for volunteers

- Liaise with staff on volunteer and student placements

- Offer training to staff on how to manage volunteers

- Maintain volunteer database

- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- A post-secondary diploma in a related field, a degree in a related field is considered an asset

- Certificate or certification in Volunteer Management is preferred

- Demonstrated experience working in a volunteer management capacity

- Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills

- Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring others

- Strong organizational, leadership and presentation skills

- Proven initiative and solid judgment

- Excellent computer skills; including proficiency Microsoft Office
 365.  

- Experience with a volunteer management data base is preferred.

- A valid Ontario driver’s licence and regular access to a personal vehicle
