Are you passionate about building stronger communities and advancing affordable housing?

We’re looking for an inspiring and dedicated leader to drive our Community Engagement efforts across Homeowner Services, Volunteer Services, Fund Development, and Marketing. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead a talented team, strengthen community relationships, grow our donor base, and enhance our visibility, helping us build safe, decent, and affordable homes for families in need.

Location flexible in the Heartland Region (London or Brantford).

Key Responsibilities:

Homeowner Services Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and support the Homeowner Services staff in selecting, onboarding, and supporting current and future homeowners.
  • Oversee annual reviews of existing home partners to assess and update mortgage payments.
  • Maintain organized and accurate electronic and paper records for all homeowners.

Volunteer Services Leadership

  • Support and guide the Volunteer Management efforts in the safe, effective administration of volunteer services, prioritizing volunteer engagement and safety.
  • Collaborate with managers across departments to recruit volunteers for various areas, including ReStore, Construction, Salvage, events, and office roles.
  • Provide on-site volunteer support during Habitat Heartland projects and events.
  • Develop and implement volunteer rewards and recognition programs alongside your team

Fund Development

  • Mentor the Fund Development team to plan, organize, and implement gift campaigns and events, building and maintaining strong relationships with donors.
  • Liaise with other Habitat affiliates to identify best practices and continually improve fund development strategies.

Marketing

  • Lead the community engagement marketing strategy for the Affiliate across 6 counties
  • Mentor the Marketing staff in crafting and executing strategic marketing plans to enhance Habitat’s profile in the community and support ReStore revenue growth.

General Responsibilities

  • Ensure alignment with Federation Models and Guidelines and collaborate on federation-led campaigns and initiatives (e.g., Federal Election).
  • Work with the Leadership Team to develop annual budgets, operational business plans, and strategic objectives.
  • Promote professional development for yourself and your team members.
  • Foster partnerships across the region to enhance community engagement and create growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Finance department to manage Fund Development in compliance with CRA and Board policies while ensuring Mortgage Models are maintained.
  • Conduct regular policy and procedure reviews, proposing updates and improvements to the COO as needed.


About You:

  • University Degree/ college diploma related to social services, public administration, public relations, fund development, or an appropriate combination of experience and education.
  • 10+ years of senior management experience in public or not-for-profit sectors in a community partnership and/or corporate communication capacity.
  • Proven leadership experience working in social services or a public sector environment and/or experience with social housing operations is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with municipal governments (i.e., City of London), provincial government and navigating multiple complex relationships.
  • Experience managing operational budgets in a publicly funded and fiscally constrained environment.
  • Strong strategic and corporate communications planning skills in a complex environment.
  • Proven ability to maintain and build trusting relationships internally and externally with key stakeholders working in a collaborative environment.
  • High degree of integrity, ethical conduct, sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness demonstrated in leadership approach, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Political acuity to recognize and respond in a timely manner to programming issues and risks that may have an impact on the organization, homeowners, donors, clients, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship management and people leadership skills to create and empower a high-performance and inclusive culture with the ability to manage, coach, and mentor staff.
  • Ability to empower others to innovate and continuously improve and innovate.
  • Proven fiscal management skills and experience managing allocated department budgets.
