Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Environmental Service Worker is responsible for keeping YOU sites in clean and orderly condition. The Environmental Service Worker is responsible for heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, cleaning and stocking restrooms, washing walls, glass and upholstered furniture, and removing rubbish. This position will work independently while performing routine maintenance activities and notifying management of the need for repairs. This position will work closely with the Environmental Service Team Lead to ensure all YOU Sites are maintained to ensure respect and integrity for the youth we serve. Responsibilities but are not limited to the following:

Performs general cleanup of designated YOU site(s);
Sweeps and mops floors, vacuums carpeted areas, dump garbage and recycling bins, performs all cleaning aspects of halls, offices, staff meeting rooms, restrooms, and kitchens, as well as washes walls, windows, furniture, and any window coverings.
Cleans and stocks kitchen and restroom facilities.
Determines needed material supplies.
Wipes down high touch point surfaces.
Adheres to a daily or weekly list of tasks.
Assist in the cleanup of external property.
Empty cigarette dispensers.
Notify the Facility Environmental Service Team Lead when repairs are required
Participate in health and safety training including WHMIS and apply this knowledge in the workplace
Report any violations of the Health and Safety Act or the regulations, or the existence of any hazard
Ensure all workplace incidents are reported in a timely manner in accordance with legislation, and YOU policies and procedures for workplace injuries and incidents
Other related duties, as required
Qualifications

Must have communication skills, customer service, attention to detail, and be comfortable with a variety of people
Must demonstrate friendliness, accountability, and dependability in dealing with the youth participants and YOU staff
1-2 years of related work experience is preferred
First Aid is considered an asset
Knowledge of standards for cleanliness, hygiene, and chemicals
Knowledge of cross-contamination and bio-hazard waste protocols
Demonstrated professional work habits, encouraged staff to act with integrity recognized this trait in others, and rewarded them appropriately.
Strong communication skills including communicating additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift.
Experience participating in pre-shift meetings and reviewing all information pertinent to the day's business.
Ability to adhere to all Youth Opportunities Unlimited Guidelines, Policies, Rules, and Regulations.
Must have G driver's License and reliable transportation.
Hours:

Part-Time Minimum 32 hours, Bi-weekly, with a flexible schedule depending on the needs of YOU.
Extended hours and weekend work may be required from time to time
