JOB SUMMARY:  

This position is responsible and accountable for the overall financial management following the approved Oneida Nation of the Thames Finance Policy. These duties include supervising, training, coaching, planning, budgeting, organizing, co-ordinating, administering, managing and evaluating, organizational policy and relevant legislation.

Must be prepared to provide the leadership, vision, and expertise to implement and evaluate new and existing services. As a member of finance team, participates in strategic planning, community development, policy planning in keeping with the mandate of Oneida Nation of the Thames and the strategic direction of the Oneida Nation Elected Council.

EDUCATION:

  1. Post-Secondary Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  2. A professional accounting designation in CPA and/or CAFM through AFOA, preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge and at least five years of experience in planning and conducting internal and external audits over financial reporting or similarand/orinvolvement in planning, monitoring, and reporting activities (budgeting, strategic planning, variance reporting, financial statement preparation, etc.)and/ormanaging all aspects of funding agreements (grant/proposal writing, policy writing, monitoring/reporting)and/orinternal controls relevant to all aspects of a financial management system.
  2. At least five years experience in a management and/or supervisory capacity.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of First Nations organizations and their financial management systems.
  4. Ability to facilitate the implementation of approved Finance, Governance, and Human Resources policies.
  5. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  6. Excellent working knowledge of Sage 300.
