Marketing Manager

Overview:

Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario is seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Manager to oversee marketing and promotional campaigns, partnerships, and social content for the entire affiliate, including our 8 Habitat ReStore locations. The ideal candidate is passionate about our mission, creative in approach, and strategic in execution to enhance our visibility, drive sales, and build community partnerships. While a core focus of this role is on the ReStore locations, the Marketing Manager will also provide marketing support to other programs of the affiliate.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing and Promotional Campaigns:

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive marketing and promotional campaigns to increase foot traffic, sales and revenue generation at Habitat ReStore locations.
  • Utilize data and analytics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven decisions to optimize results.
  • Update current, create new, and publish promotional materials including flyers, brochures, newsletters, social media posts and advertisements, ensuring consistent branding and messaging across all platforms.

Partnerships:

  • Support partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community groups to support Habitat Heartland initiatives.
  • Support sponsorship and cross promotional partnership agreements, ensuring mutual benefits and long-term relationships.
  • Collaborate in campaigns and events with partners to enhance community engagement and support for Habitat for Humanity's mission.

Social Content:

  • Create, post, and manage content for social media platforms, website, videos, blogs and email newsletters.
  • Create and maintain a content calendar that aligns with marketing and sales goals, seasonal promotions, and organizational initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze social media metrics to measure success and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Engage with followers, respond to inquiries, and build a strong online community around Habitat for Humanity and ReStore.

Store Location Marketing Support:

  • Visit ReStore locations regularly to work with managers and key staff on rolling out various marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with store teams to develop and implement location-specific marketing initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all ReStore locations.

Affiliate Program Support:

  • Provide marketing support to other Habitat for Humanity programs as needed.
  • Assist in developing marketing materials and campaigns for fundraising events, volunteer recruitment, and other affiliate initiatives.
  • Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all affiliate programs.
  • Attend key ceremonies, promotional events and be available for occasional after-hours tasks or events.

General Responsibilities

  • Produce reports on activity and performance for senior management and the Board of Directors as required
  • Attend and participate in all management team meetings
  • Ensure effective communication between staff, volunteers, and management including briefings and meetings where needed
  • Seek out and follow through on professional development opportunities
  • Consistently provide feedback to management
  • Recommend and implement improvements to affiliate procedures, and policies
  • Advocate on behalf of Habitat Heartland
  • Perform other tasks, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Habitat for Humanity's mission and values.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field, or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in non-profit sectors.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of website communication and development, social media platforms, content creation, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Experience using relevant technology such as Microsoft Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, WordPress, Constant Contact, Canva and Adobe.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Experience guiding volunteers and staff.
  • Experience working with outsourced services.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in retail marketing or customer service is a bonus.
  • Valid driver's license required.
