Policy Alert: Budget 2021 includes supports for the sector and equitable recovery



On March 8th, we partnered with TechAlliance of Southwestern Ontario, Women in Communications and Technology London Chapter (WCT), All Women L.E.A.D., and South Western Ontario Angel Group (SWO Angels) to deliver Smashing Barriers: Dare to Rise.

City Art Centre aims to provide a safe place, free art supplies, peer support, and encouragement for those 18 years and older who self-identify as living with mental illness. Over the years, members have developed a wide range of styles, forms, and techniques to support individual creative processes.
Last August, a grant from the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario enabled Pillar Nonprofit Network, along with partners the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI), SVX and NORDIK

The Social Enterprise Incubator, sponsored by Libro Credit Union (a Certified B Corporation), is as much an entrepreneurial support program as it is a community of people creating positive change through work at the intersection of purpose, prosperity, and measurable benefit.

This past week I participated in a conversation facilitated by Pillar Nonprofit Network that focused on committing to equity and inclusion during COVID-19. Within this microcosm of change agents, the urgency of this conversation was undisputed.
The inadequacies of our systems have come front and centre for all to see.

We have seen the power of social enterprise to benefit people and the environment while creating jobs and supporting economic development. We know that this is a challenging time for people and businesses alike, and have heard that people are looking for ways to support social enterprises during this time.
