Short Bio or Organizational Mission:
The London Search and Rescue team is excited to announce that our Fall Recruitment Class will graduate November 20 2022. This will increase our operational efficiency from 50 to 70 fully trained volunteer searchers. Our searchers are on call 24/7/365 to assist all Police Forces within SW Ontario.
Each member will be trained on the following courses designed by the OPP:
Search patterns, missing person behaviour, map and compass, GPS and Radio usage, Clue detection, evidence handling, tally, psychology of survival, night navigation techniques, search and rescue hazards and legalities, and documentation.
What do you want people to know about how you or your organization is creating change in our community?
The London Search and Rescue team is building stronger communities by training members in emergency response, incident management systems, and leadership.
What are you working on that you would like to share with the community? :
To help offset the cost of purchasing new recruit uniforms, and to fund our core operating expenses, LSAR is running an online auction fundraiser. We have gathered over $10,000 worth of donations from local businesses and community supporters. The auction is located by clicking here.
