LONDON, ONTARIO – This past November, Pillar Nonprofit Network reached a significant milestone, celebrating the 15th Annual Pillar Community Innovation Awards (PCIAs) and over 190 stories told. The PCIAs are a signature event for Pillar and an important opportunity for the network to gather, be inspired and celebrate extraordinary people in our community. This year, Pillar is turning their attention to what the network and community need in this moment of COVID recovery - high-touch support resulting in deep impact.

For this reason, Pillar has decided to pause on the PCIAs until 2024 to enable a shift to meet the greatest needs in this community through a heightened equity lens. The awards will pivot to a triennial basis to align with the organization’s strategic planning cycle. This shift will see the launch of a new program, the Pillar Community Impact Program, which includes supporting participating organizations and network members to deliver core business functions. Services offered by Pillar will be customized based on the needs of each organization and may include developing an equity, inclusion and anti-oppression strategy, business planning strategic planning support, a communications and impact storytelling assessment and board governance development.

“We are so excited to be in a position to do this deep work with network members and organizations in this community and look forward to bringing the awards back in 2024 at the beginning of our next strategic planning cycle. We have occupied this storytelling space for 15 years and our anti-oppression work compels us to step back, make room and be accountable to this community in support of impact and recovery.”- Mojdeh Cox, Executive Director of Pillar Nonprofit Network
