Pillar Nonprofit Network Receives $200,000 Grant from London Community Foundation, Fuelling Social Impact Initiatives

LONDON, ONTARIO - Monday, July 10, 2023 - Today, Pillar Nonprofit Network (Pillar) welcomed Lori Runciman, Director of Grants from the London Community Foundation (LCF) to present a cheque to Pillar Interim CEO, Maureen Cassidy. Pillar staff were on hand to thank Lori and LCF for their generous $200,000 grant which will support its broad range of capacity-building programs for the nonprofit sector. 

“The impact of this London Community Foundation grant cannot be underestimated,” says Interim CEO of Pillar, Maureen Cassidy. “This investment by LCF will enable Pillar to continue to aid the social impact sector to confront current crises of health, inequality and community wellbeing.” 

Some of the initiatives that this grant will support include:

  • Delivering knowledge, learning, and educational experiences to the impact sector in support of social and economic recovery;

  • Collaboration and building capacity within the nonprofit network through public policy support, advocacy, impact storytelling, and network support;

  • Convening the sector to discuss emerging concerns and complex issues, problem solving and building community-led solutions;

  • Defining and promoting opportunities to strengthen sector knowledge of Social Enterprise, Social Finance, and the UNs Sustainable Development Goals; and

  • Ensure the longevity and financial sustainability of the organization, including Innovation Works, our co-working space in downtown London, as a means to deliver for our members and the sector at large.
