The Museum of Ontario Archaeology is seeking an Event Coordinator for the summer season. Anticipated start date is June 9 through to August 31, 2025. This position is 35 hrs/week, $17.20/hr. This position is contingent on the successful funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program and candidates must meet the eligibility requirements outline below.
The Event Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be planning, organizing, and executing a variety of engaging summer events at the Museum of Ontario Archaeology. The position will coordinate and execute the summer Forest Festival, and to lead the planning and delivery of other community events throughout the summer, including 55+ programs, outreach, workshops and weekend activities.

This position is 35 hrs/week, Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, $17.20/hr. The Museum Co-ordinator will ensure that museum visitors both on-site and online have an engaging and memorable cultural experience. The Museum Co-ordinator will align reception and gift shop services, orient visitors to museum on-site and online services, engage with and create content for social media, and assist with program content development and delivery.

The Camp Counsellor will assist the Public and Education Programmer with the delivery of our Summer Kid’s Day Camp Program. The Camp Counsellor position will provide an opportunity for youth interested in the field of education, archaeology, history, museum studies, First Nations studies, environment or similar, to gain experience working with children between the ages of 6-12. The Counsellor will also develop limited supervisory and program development skills. Program development of camp will have a nature and local heritage theme throughout.

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Ecological Assistant to provide critical staff support for our tree growing and aftercare initiatives. As an Ecological Assistant – Tree Growing & Aftercare, you will support the care, planting and growth of trees as well as assist with other ecological initiatives aimed at improving local ecosystems, combatting climate change, and enhancing biodiversity. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your knowledge of arboriculture and play a hands-on role in supporting local biodiversity through tree growing, planting and maintenance efforts, while working collaboratively with a diverse team of experts and volunteers.
The Tree Growing and Aftercare Ecological Assistant will provide critical staff support to our Growing Programs – the Community Tree Nursery and Aftercare. They will work closely with Coordinator of Growing Programs to facilitate our spring and summer 2025 planting initiatives.
This is a 8 week, full-time position (37.5 hours/week), at $18.20/hr (contingent upon funding)
