Renewal Notices (Membership & Posts)

Renewal notices for memberships

CiviCRM has scheduled jobs, which send out the membership renewal notices (CiviCRM > Adminster > System Settings > Scheduled Jobs)

The reminders are set up in CiviCRM > Administer > Communications > Schedule Reminders.

Currently there are three reminders for organization memberships:  1 month before the membership ends, one week before, one month after.

There are no reminders for individual memberships.

Problem:

GoodLife Kids Foundation:  In 2014, the 1-month reminder was sent.  Renewed before a 1-week reminder needed.  But, in 2015, the 1-month reminder was NOT sent.  The 1-week one was.  If a reminder is sent one year, does it mark as "sent" for the next year as well?

I am turning on the repeat, to repeat every year, and hoping this solves the problem. (march 10, 2015)

March 12 - every single account is getting a reminder every day.  Upgraded CiviCRM to latest version, and this seems to have solved the problem.

Renewal notices for Posts

This website uses the Drupal function "Rules" to send out renewal notices when posts expire.

When a node is saved, it will be picked up in the custom module pw_pnn_custom_rule_scheduler by the hook_node_inserthttps://api.drupal.org/api/drupal/modules!node!node.api.php/function/hoo...

The same module uses hook_node_presave to see if a node is changed from unpublished to published.  It is also doing something fancy with events, and setting the location field.

hook_node_insert is hit every time a node is saved.  This will cause multiple reminders to be created.
