Childreach is seeking community members to join its Board of Directors. Childreach is a non-profit registered charity, (Charitable Registration Number: 10691 3742 RR0001), based in London, Ontario that specializes in working with parents, caregivers and young children. Childreach’s free services support parents on their parenting journey and equip children with early learning and school readiness skills to help them reach their full potential. Evidence indicates that quality early childhood experiences have a strong impact on healthy child development.

Position: Board Member
Your Role: Childreach is looking for individuals who are passionate about accessible, inclusive early years programming, and are willing to make intentional contributions that make a meaningful impact on children and families in our community. As a Board Member, your role is to ensure that Childreach establishes and maintains the trust of the community by being accountable for its actions, ethical in its activities and clear in its vision that all children reach their full potential.
One of the primary functions of our Board is to advise and support the Executive Director in maintaining our mission, values and vision and achieving the priorities set out in our Strategic Plan.
Board Term: The Board Member term is three years.
In terms of time commitment, the full board meets at least 6 times per year, usually on the third Wednesday of every other month, from 7 to 8:30 pm. Board Committees meet bi-monthly in order to accomplish tasks by established deadlines. Board members are asked to commit 2-4 hours bi-monthly allowing members to participate in Board and Committee meetings, review Board meeting materials and email communications. All board members are expected to support and participate fundraising efforts undertaken for the benefit of Childreach to serve families of young children (age 0 – 6) with no-cost, inclusive and accessible early years programming.
Consideration: To ensure the best possible decision-making environment, preference will be given to candidates who broaden the diversity of the Board, ensure representation is reflective of our community, and enable Childreach to retain a broad skill set among Board Members. At this time, Childreach is particularly interested in individuals who have a background in any of these areas - education, finance, law and social service.
