South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre (SLNRC) is calling for all individuals from various background interested to volunteer to apply forEnglish for Daily Life volunteerposition.In this capacity, you will work hand-in-hand with the Yazidi Family Facilitator to run programs to Yazidi newcomers and help them integrate in the community. Join your effort with ours and help newcomers make Canada home.

Commitment Duration (Time): 3-6 months

Deadline to Apply: August 5th, 2024.

Number of Vacancies: 3

  • Required Qualifications/Training:
  1. Comprehensible oral and written English skills is an asset
  2. Daytime availability is advantageous
  3. Ability to communicate in a positive and welcoming manner
  4. Complete volunteer training
  5. Special skills, hobbies and talents
  6. Must have a completed Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Additional Skills:
  • Ability to work with a diverse population and various levels of English
  • Patience, support and empathy toward newcomers
  • Basic knowledge of settlement services and resources
  • Willingness to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different cultural groups
  • Knowledge of languages other than English is an asset

Applicants should be Canadian Citizens or well-established immigrants who reside in London
