Volunteer Crisis Responders provide immediate emotional support, practical assistance to those impacted by crime or tragic circumstance. You will respond to requests by Police and other Emergency Services within London and Middlesex County. Most common requests occur after Sudden death, Domestic Violence or House fires. Deployed in pairs.

Training included 40 hours online training courses (23 modules) completed at your own pace. Starting late September there is a 30 hours in-person training at London Police Station (7 training days - 5 Thursday evenings (6:30 pm) and 2 full day Saturdays (Oct 5, November 2). Training is completed by November 7th, 2024. 

Once trained, volunteer schedule their own on-call time (36 hours a month).

Great experience if wish to get into a career in Policing, gaining trauma experience and being there for someone that may have had the worse day of their lives.

Required Qualifications/Training: 
Access to a vehicle
18+ years old with a valid driver's license
Vulnerable Sector Check
Willing to travel throughout Middlesex County (i.e. Strathroy, Lucan, London, Munsee)
Skills Preferred: 
Compassion, Empathy, Community Awareness/knowledge
Advanced Language Skills
Active Listening
