Do you like working with kids in grades 6 to 8?
Would you like to help them learn coking skills, participate in fun sports activities, games and learn confidence building and life skills?
We are seeking dedicated volunteers for our HARK program. This program runs Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at 4 different Family Centres in London throughout the school year.
HARK will take place at Family Centre Huron Heights - 1370 Huron Street on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 3:30-5:30
Family Centre Carling-Thames- 335 Belfield Street- Tuesdays from 3:30-5:30
Family Centre Fanshawe - 1800 Cedarhollow Boulevard- Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30
Family Centre Argyle - 1990 Royal Crescent- Thursdays from 3:30-5:30
HARK is for students in Grade 6-8. HARK stands for Healthy, Active, Resilient Kids. The students make a healthy snack, do an active game and engage in activities that promote friendship, resiliency, confidence building, mental wellness and life skills. They also go on fun field trips like skating with the London Knights, going bowling, viewing a play at Grand Theatre and more!
The commitment required is from Sept-June and consistency with the day. (Example- If you want to volunteer on Monday, you would commit to Monday for the school year) The idea is to build trusting relationships with the group.
