Interpretation and Outreach Assistant

The Museum of Ontario Archaeology is seeking an Interpretation and Outreach Assistant for the summer season (12 weeks, 35 hrs/week, $17.20/hr). Anticipated start date is June 9 through to August 30, 2025.

The Interpretation and Outreach Assistant will be responsible for delivering engaging gallery and site tours and representing the museum at outreach events in the community. They will play an active role in organizing and supporting summer programming, including events such as the June Forest Festival. They will also assist with museum operations by contributing to collections management tasks such as repackaging, data entry, inventory and 3D scanning. Additionally, they will enhance the museum’s community engagement by creating content for social media and blog posts, fostering connections with diverse audiences and promoting a deeper understanding of Ontario’s cultural heritage.

Museum Co-ordinator

The Museum of Ontario Archaeology is seeking a Museum Co-ordinator for the summer season. Anticipated start date is June 10 through to August 30, 2025. This position is 35 hrs/week, Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, $17.20/hr.

The Museum Co-ordinator will ensure that museum visitors both on-site and online have an engaging and memorable cultural experience. The Museum Co-ordinator will align reception and gift shop services, orient visitors to museum on-site and online services, engage with and create content for social media, and assist with program content development and delivery.

Camp Counsellor

The Museum of Ontario Archaeology is seeking a Camp Counselor for the summer season. Anticipated start date is June 9 through to August 29, 2025. This position is 35 hrs/week, $17.20/hr.

The Camp Counsellor will assist the Public and Education Programmer with the delivery of our Summer Kid’s Day Camp Program. The Camp Counsellor position will provide an opportunity for youth interested in the field of education, archaeology, history, museum studies, First Nations studies, environment or similar, to gain experience working with children between the ages of 6-12. The Counsellor will also develop limited supervisory and program development skills. Program development of camp will have a nature and local heritage theme throughout.

The MOA’s Interpretive Plan encourages the museum to seek a diversity of voices for interpretation, and we will strongly encourage First Nations, Inuit, and Métis and students from other underrepresented groups to apply.

Museum Educator

The Museum of Ontario Archaeology is seeking a Museum Educator for the summer season. Anticipated start date is June 9 through to August 31, 2025. This position is 35 hrs/week, $17.20/hr.

The Museum Educator’s primary responsibility will include assisting the Public & Education Programmer with delivering interactive summer programming and guided tours to museum visitors, conduct public archaeology workshops and activities, update school programming, and assist with special event planning and delivery.

Camp Coordinator

The Museum of Ontario Archaeology is seeking a Camp Coordinator for the summer season. Anticipated start date is June 9th through to August, 30th 2025. This position is 35 hrs/week, $17.20/hr.

Under the supervision of the Public & Education Programmer, the Camp Coordinator will deliver interactive and on-site museum programming for children and families, including a six week day camp for children ages 6-12. The Camp Coordinator will serve in a leadership position, supervising the Junior Camp Counsellor Staff and volunteers. They will also assist with public programming initiatives and activities similar in nature to camp deliverables.
