Christmas Market in the Village

‘Tis the season for holiday cheer! Join Fanshawe Pioneer Village for an outdoor Christmas Market in the Village. Decorations will be hung round the Village with care, and you know St. Nicholas is sure to be there! A Christmas tree lot, outdoor activities, vendors, and villagers will come together to create the Christmas market we see each year in the movies we all secretly love.

Tickets are $5 per person, children 3 and under are free and do not require a ticket. Advance purchase highly recommended.  Once tickets are gone, they are gone!

Let's Create: Framed Embroidery

Create a memento of somewhere close to our heart. This hands-on activity let’s you embroider an image of our log house to be displayed in a frame.

No experience necessary! We provide all the materials, and we’ll walk you through the process of transferring your image onto fabric and embroidering it, step-by-step during the workshop.

You also get to take home your embroidery hoop and needle.

Let's Create: Tin Punched Canister

Are you ready to make some noise? This hands-on activity has you tin punching a metal canister. Keep your desk, purse, or car tidy as these decorated mini boxes are perfect for storing cards, bobby pins, or other small items that always seem to get everywhere!

No experience necessary! We’ll walk you step-by-step through the process during the workshop.

Let's Create: Rustic Plant Holder

This hands-on activity lets you create a rustic, wall mounted, plant holder. We provide all the materials, you get a great way to show off your plants!

No experience necessary! We’ll walk you step-by-step through the process during the workshop. Plants not included but examples of how to use the mason jars to hold your plants will be provided.

A Visit with St. Nicholas

Join St. Nicholas for pancakes and sausage, and take a beautiful winter horse-drawn wagon ride around the Village! Breakfast includes 3 pancakes and 2 sausage and visitors can help themselves to orange juice, coffee, and tea, with a gingerbread cookie for dessert.

A select number of buildings will be open and will have activities for visitors to participate in.

Sittings offered at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. each day.

The Christmas Truce of 1914

In 1914, a brief, unofficial, truce took place at Christmas along parts of the Western Front. Soldiers from opposing sides came together to mark the season as strains of Silent Night echoed in the dark. Experience a WWI Christmas Story as you embark by foot on a journey through time to experience a significant moment in history at our replica trench.

Presented in partnership with the History Matters Association.

The Halloween Haunt: Danger from the Dead

Something seems to be going awry in the Village of Fanshawe. None of the villagers can explain it– not even the doctor.

Will you make it out intact?

Be sure to purchase tickets in advance for this sell-out halloween, ghost walk style, event and arrive 15 minutes prior to your performance.

Shows begin at 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. each night , and 10:00 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, as well as October 27th and 30th.

A Visit with St. Nicholas

Join us for breakfast and gingerbread cooking decorating, followed by a visit with St. Nicholas and a horse-drawn wagon ride. Cap off your visit by exploring a selection of buildings.

Breakfast includes 3 pancakes and 1 or 2 sausages.

We will be accepting non-perishable food donations at this event.

Tickets must be purchased in advance.
