Reset. Strengthen. Deliver. Pillar Nonprofit Network's Provisional Strategic Plan 2024-2025

Dear Community Members,

Dear Community Members,

One of the things we heard loud and clear from Pillar members and the community this year -- not least through the work of Pillar's Community Advisory Panel -- was a desire to receive updates from leadership regarding the organization's operations.

As we prepare for the eleventh observance of Orange Shirt Day this year and the third time it has also been observed as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we are struck both by the many ways we can learn and connect in community and also by the little real progress that has been made toward Reconciliation with Indigenous people.

The Board of Directors of Pillar Nonprofit Network is pleased to announce the appointment of Maureen Cassidy as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective Tuesday, September 5, 2023. The Board enlisted the help of an external Human Resources consulting firm to conduct an independent review of the role, expectations of the Board and organizational needs, as well as a formal performance appraisal. Based on the assessment, which included staff and board input, a recommendation was made to formalize Maureen’s interim role to permanent CEO.

Though it’s little more than a late-summer long weekend for some, Labour Day in Canada has a nearly 150-year history of celebrating the gains of organized labour.

Pillar's Community Advisory Panel conducted a community conversation and online survey, leading to several shared outcomes. One of the key desires expressed by the membership was to receive updates from Pillar's Interim CEO and Board regarding the organization's operations. To address this, an email was sent to members and Pillar newsletter subscribers on Thursday, August 3.

LONDON, Ont, May 2, 2023 – It is with great pleasure that we announce Mariam Waliji's appointment as the Vice President - Impact, Equity & Governance for Pillar Nonprofit Network.

LONDON, Ontario, April 28, 2023– Pillar Nonprofit Network members who gathered for the organization’s annual general meeting Wednesday, April 26 have elected a completely new board of directors. The slate of nine candidates was recommended by a community advisory panel, appointed by the outgoing board to coordinate the transition.

Among the outcomes shared by Pillar's Community Advisory Panel following a community conversation and online survey was the membership's desire to hear from Pillar's Interim CEO about Pillar's operations. In an email to members and Pillar newsletter subscribers sent Monday, April 3, Maureen Cassidy outlines the organization's recent activities.
